Petro Gostar Permayon (PGP) and Curtin University of Technology have been signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of scientific collaboration.
The Parties wish to explore proposals to cooperate in scientific research collaboration in the Field of Petroleum Geosciences and Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical engineering.
Research areas of cooperation including:
1- Geological sciences
In particular fractured carbonate reservoirs including:
Pore network modelling and simulation of carbonates
Nuclear Magnetic resonance (NMR) calibration for different carbonate rock types
Understanding shale problems during drilling
Carbonate pore network complexity and its effect on petrophysical and geophysical properties.
2- Geophysical sciences
In particular seismicity and potential for application of both two dimensional (2-D) and three dimensional (3-D) seismic time-lapse surveying in relation to carbonate and clastic reservoir imaging and production issues.
3- Geochemical sciences
In particular understanding fractured carbonate reservoirs.
4- Reservoir characterisation
In particular understanding reservoir performance through bore-hole data analysis, and its interface with well and reservoir data.
5- Petroleum engineering
Well completion, artificial lift, well test and difficulties related to production
Hydraulic fracturing of formations well stimulation, pressure maintenance,
Well head facilities, separators, production, industrial protection and environmental studies
Asphaltene depositions, mass transfer phenomena, phase behaviour of fluids and reducing the cost of production.
